A virtue well worth attaining, but hard to establish.

Integrity.

As people who are never perfect, with minds that tend to control us if not kept in check, this idea is very hard to embody. Daily, we make thousands of decisions.

They can catch up to us and make us feel out of control when it comes to thought, choice and action. As our willpower decreases, so does our ability to maintain the standards we hold ourselves to. This is where the character trait of integrity steps in. When our mind and morals meet our choices and actions. To not care who may or may not be around watching or holding you accountable, but to hold fast to your morals regardless.

When it comes to tangible action, it could be how many reps you do of an exercise. When it comes to habits, it could be what you say you do while at home or in the absence of others versus what you actually do. In your finances, it could be what you charge, spend or report to a legal and honest manner.

Whatever it is for you, ask yourself, “Does this show my integrity?” And “How do I hold myself to a higher standard?"
